Help with lettered clothing: words you will meet and short answers

Where to get help with a reading, a glossary of the terms used on this site, short answers to common questions, and a plain note on prices, currency and shipping.

Getting help with a print or an order

We cannot help with orders, parcels, refunds or accounts at any agent, Mulebuy included. Those belong to the agent that took the order. If something goes wrong with a delivered print, the screenshots of what the seller promised are the evidence your agent will ask for.

Corrections we make are dated and listed, and if you point out a reading we got wrong we will say so on the page rather than quietly swap the text.

Glossary of terms on this site

This short glossary covers the words that come up across the pages. Brand slang and order codes from forums are left out on purpose. Terms are grouped in the chart by what they describe: the writing, the photos, or the buying.

Where a term has a Chinese name that you may see in a listing, the Chinese is given beside it, so you can match the word if a seller uses it in a reply.

Hanzi
Chinese characters, 汉字. Each character is a syllable with a meaning.
Simplified
The reduced-stroke character set standard on the mainland.
Traditional
The fuller character set standard in Taiwan and Hong Kong.
Kanji
Characters as used in Japanese, some in Japanese-only forms such as 気.
Kana
Japanese syllabic scripts, hiragana and katakana. They have no Chinese reading.
Pinyin
The standard romanization of Mandarin, with tone marks: fú, xǐ.
Idiom
A fixed phrase, usually four characters, read as a unit; in Chinese 成语.
Mock-up
Artwork pasted onto a stock photo of a blank garment, rather than a photo of the real piece.
Watermark
A shop name stamped across a photo. It is not printed on the garment.
QC photos
The photos an agent’s warehouse takes when your item arrives, so you can check it before shipping.
Listing
The page where a seller offers a product, on Taobao, Weidian or 1688.
Agent
A service that buys from the seller for you, receives the goods and ships them abroad.

Short answers about prints, photos and orders

Readers have frequently asked us the points below about lettered clothing; each answer is brief. Tap a line to open it.

Can you tell me what my print says if it is not on the board?

Write to us with the listing link and we will try, but the board and the angle pages cover the common prints. For anything else, ask the seller and compare the answer with a public dictionary.

Why does the catalog title not mention the characters?

Titles are machine-translated from the seller’s Chinese and tend to describe a print as a graphic or letter print, whatever it says.

Do agents check that the print is spelled right?

Warehouse checks look at the outside of an item: color, damage, stains, size. Reading the lettering is up to you, which is why the close-up photo matters.

Is it rude to wear Chinese characters I cannot read?

Usually not. The few cases that can raise eyebrows are on the second meanings page: a wedding sign at someone else’s wedding, a large long-life character alone, a green cap with writing.

Are the slang meanings still current?

They are our reading for 2026 and are rechecked every three months. The updates page records any change.

Can I still order through Mulebuy?

No. Its site did not load when we checked on October 19, 2026. Any working agent can usually buy the same listing.

Do you sell anything?

No. Catalog links and agent links can earn us a referral reward, and they are marked as sponsored in the code.

Where do the sample images come from?

We drew them with open-source fonts. None is a photo of a garment.

Prices, currency and shipping in brief

Catalog prices are in Chinese yuan, as the sellers list them. The exchange rate you pay is the one your agent shows at checkout, and it can sit above the bank rate; compare it before you top up.

Shipping is a separate payment made when your items leave the agent’s warehouse. You choose a shipping method there, and the delivery time and any customs charges depend on the route and on your country’s rules. We do not quote shipping prices here, because they change by the week and by the parcel.

The printed piece itself adds nothing special to shipping. A hoodie with words on it ships like any hoodie.

Order help: identify the event before asking

For a broken import, keep the original listing; for a missing QC view, name the angle and measurement; for a return, record the Stored time; for a parcel, keep the line and last carrier scan. Ask the agent holding that record. This independent site can correct its guide but cannot access an account.
